The amazing artist FionaFei has created a beautiful region at Ling Xiao Long for the Fantasy Faire. It is also The Literary Festival Region, and was sponsored by PaperFriends. I took a picture during a talk she had with Zander Greene (FF Minister 2021, Co-Captain of the Fantasy Faire) on 23rd April, 2021. Get a much better look by experiencing the immersive installation in person!

What Fiona said reminded me of this story I heard by Chinese American Ken Liu about a grandmother trying to bond with grandson through her paper art. The story “The Paper Menagerie” can be heard read by LeVar Burton here. It is part of a collection of short stories called The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories. And turns out Fiona knew the story and felt really connected with it, which came up during the discussion.
